BMW Motorrad unveils the latest S 1000 XR

Super Engine for High Performance and Maximum Output 

The new S 1000 XR features an in-line 4-cylinder engine that provides a smooth and powerful torque delivery and an incredible power characteristic that ensures excellent rideability and impressive long-distance performance. The engine also delivers 125 kW [170hp], 4 Kw [5hp] more than its predecessor model. Interestingly, the nominal engine speed remains unchanged at 11,000 rpm to ensure a flow-optimized geometry and maximum power delivery. The new S 1000 XR model also has a higher battery capacity [12 Ah] than the previous model [9 Ah]. 

Enhanced Ergonomics for More Comfort and Sophistication 

The new S 1000 XR is designed with the rider’s comfort in mind. The ergonomic upgrade of this model ensures freedom of movement, especially on country roads, race tracks, and other high performance and long distance rides. The seat of this long distance bike has been upgraded to offer an 850 mm seat height, which is 10 mm more than the previous model. There is also room for more width to accommodate varying buttock size and riding posture during long rides. The optimized new seat height, extended width, and spring strut also ensure better control on rough roads and proper balancing for a safe ride. 

Sleek Design for Visual Appeal 

While S 1000 XR ensures proper functionality, the design also ensures proper visual appeal. The 2024 BMW S 1000 XR features an improved rear section design that makes it sportier. The new design inspired by motorsports also includes air intake and side panels for better appearance and functionality. Other visual redesign includes a more sophisticated handlebar clamp, a front “beak” painted in body color, and a new textured surface for the radiator. This new motorbike model is available in new color options: Blackstorm metallic, Gravityblue metallic, and Lightwhite solid paint/Motorsport.

Improved Range of Standard Equipment and Optional Extras 

The 2024 BMW S 1000 XR updates and upgrades feature the inclusion of a longer list of standard equipment. This list includes Headlight Pro for improved illumination during night rides, adaptive turning light for improved safety, and Daytime Running Lights [DRL] for improved vehicle recognition. The optional extras include M GPS Laptrigger, M Carbon Wheels, and E-Call features in the USA. S 1000 XR also pioneers additional standard features for BMW motorcycles, including Keyless Ride, a 12 Ah capacity battery, and a USB charging option.
