If youโre as big a fan of Ducati motorcycles as I am, youโre not alone. As a lifelong rider, Iโve always been impressed by their design, classy engineering, and impressive durability. When I first moved to New Jersey, I didnโt always know the best spots to ride. Luckily, the Ducati shop near me, Cross Country Cycle, helped me find some great routes.
If youโre interested in finding a new Ducati or learning more about where to ride in New Jersey, Cross Country Cycle is the Ducati dealership to count on. Youโll definitely find your dream Ducati motorcycle for sale in their extensive Ducati showroom. And once you do, I hope you head out on some of these amazing drives in the New York and New Jersey area.
Check out some of my favorite spots to ride, and feel free to share any that we missed.
The Jersey Shore
When I first moved to Jersey, my image of the shore was what I saw on MTV. But when I stopped by the Ducati shop near me, they recommended it as one of the best places to ride in the state.
First of all, the shore is a great day trip, especially in the warmer months. Thereโs so much incredible food, so many great beaches, and of course, the historic boardwalks. Most shore towns have a beachside road, which is perfect for a motorcycle ride, but zipping down the Parkway on a Ducati at higher speeds can be plenty of fun too.
Early-Morning NYC Rides
Itโs no secret that New York traffic is some of the worst in the country, and the city can be a really frustrating place to ride a motorcycle. But the Ducati shop near me suggested that a morning trip around NYC is one of the most beautiful and pristine rides in the area.
Youโll want to take the George Washington Bridge across the river from New Jersey and then head down the West Side highway and up the FDR on the East Side. If youโre looking to elongate your ride a bit, consider heading over to the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway to cover some of the outer boroughs. Especially in the morning, the Belt Parkway along South Brooklyn provides a beautiful view of the Verrazano Bridge and Staten Island.
Youโll be able to do this ride at a good speed provided you head out around sunrise since traffic wonโt be challenging yet. Itโs one of my favorite rides on my Ducati.
George Washington Bridge to Princeton on the New Jersey Turnpike
When I first moved to Jersey, I had heard so many jokes about how ugly the turnpike is. But hereโs the truth: itโs actually a beautiful ride.
Starting from the George Washington Bridge, youโll head down and see the Pulaski Skyway, Newark, and many old industrial buildings along the way. Itโs a look at America, and how much has changed over the past 50 or so years. Once you start heading down towards Princeton, youโll get a similar picture on Route 1. And once you arrive in Princeton, youโll be in one of our stateโs most beautiful towns.
Cape May and Cumberland Counties
Past Atlantic City on the Garden State Parkway, youโll find Cape May, a historic and quaint area with beautiful beaches, great restaurants, and wonderful local wines and beers. Itโs worth the day trip from central Jersey (I also enjoy the ride down the Parkway), and you may want to stay overnight in one of the small inns in the area. Cumberland County, which is nearby, is also a great place to ride, according to the Ducati shop near me.
